Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Washington County Released Inmates does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider handles the query under its own privacy terms.
Emails and Direct Messages
Information sent by email or through a contact form may be retained long enough to review and answer the message. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law or a valid legal process.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Basic technical information may be recorded when a page loads. It helps operate the site, measure performance, and diagnose faults.
- The internet protocol address used for the request
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps associated with visits
Cookie Use
Cookies may help show how visitors use the pages and support site functions. A browser can reject or remove cookies through its settings. Blocking them may cause some features or partner services to work differently.
Reasons Data Is Used
- Operate the pages and maintain reasonable speed
- Send a search request to the selected partner service
- Understand which Washington County resources visitors use
- Detect, investigate, and correct technical problems
- Display advertising that may reflect a visitor’s interests
Other Websites and Services
Links may lead to Washington County offices, Illinois corrections and court portals, federal locators, release-record sources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows one of those links, that destination’s privacy policy governs its collection and use of information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based advertising. Their tracking occurs under their controls and policies, not as a Washington County Released Inmates record.
Parties That May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. Limited information may be available to providers that perform functions for the site or to an authority with valid legal process.
- Search partners that receive and process a submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure use and performance
- Advertising networks that deliver and assess ads
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid order
Reasonable Security Measures
Standard safeguards are used to protect information within the site’s control. No website, network, storage service, or internet transmission is completely secure. Washington County Released Inmates cannot promise that a breach, unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.
Visitors Younger Than 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, a deletion request may be sent through the Contacts page.
Privacy Choices and Requests
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, a person may ask to exercise the following choices concerning information held directly by the site.
- Receive a copy of personal information held
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of eligible personal information
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where available
These choices do not alter records held by the Washington County Sheriff, Illinois Department of Corrections, courts, or another outside agency. Requests about official public records must go to their custodian. Illinois public-record access is governed in part by the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as site practices or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when it is posted here with an updated effective date.
